Cimetière des Batignolles

Created to bury the inhabitants of the new common Batignolles-Monceaux, the cemetery of Batignolles opened its doors August 22, 1833. With its current size of 10 acres, equal to the cemetery of Montmartre , Batignolles Cemetery is the fourth intramural necropolis of Paris. Shady alleys of chestnut trees, maples, ash and plane trees are lined with 15,000 graves.
