16th arrondissement

Situated on the right bank of the River Seine, the 17th arrondissement, which includes the mainly residential districts of Auteuil and Passy, is home to a large number of diplomatic embassies and is also the location of the famous Avenue Foch, the widest street in Paris and home to many of the City's wealthy foreign residents.

With its ornate 19th century buildings, large avenues, prestigious schools and museums and various parks, the arrondissement has long been known as one of French high society's favorite places of residence

This, the westernmost arrondissement, is also where tennis stars battle it out on the clay courts of Roland Garros Stadium, home to the French Open.
